Question by Austin: Is it legal to create a band shirt?
Okay so I was just wondering something, Is it legal to go to one of those “create your own shirt” websites, take a band picture from the internet. (I want to take the album cover the Brightwood’s “Wake” album) and then make the shirt for yourself, I have no plans to sell this or anything just wondering if it’s okay. Cause I def don’t want to do it if it’s not. Thanks.

As long as you don’t plan on selling it for profit, you should be fine. That being said, if the album art is copyrighted, then you may want to check on that first. There shouldn’t be any problems though. I only say this b/c when I was playing with my old band, a couple of our bigger fans made that resembled the cover of our second album. Most of the time, bands will be honored when you make a personalized of them.
